It’s the holiday’s, fa la la laaa, la la, la, la.

Did I do that right?

So I’ve compiled my go-to’s from this past year, and everyday favorites, all into one gift guide for ya. You’ll find affordable goodies and a few splurges for the foodies in your life. Best thing is that everything can be found on so your butt doesn’t even have to leave the couch to make any of these purchases.

As they are on Amazon, the links in this post are affiliates, meaning if you do decide to make a purchase at absolutely nooooo additional cost to you, Amazon may send me a tiny kickback. I mean it’s really rather puny, BUT I appreciate every penny and your support for helping Noming keep on going on. Wow, that was the most long-winded bit about something that completely doesn’t impact you. But here we gooooo…

1:: Breville BSB510XL Immersion Blender – Want smooth and creamy soups? Yaaa you do. And even better, this Breville one comes with some extra gear like a whisk and a chopping container. So truly this is more than one gadget all in one. Multi-purpose man, it’s the way to go.

2:: Vitamix A3500 Ascent Series – This bad boy makes the dreamiest, creamiest smoothies. But it also has enough umph that it can literally warm/heat your soup and/or favorite hot drink. It’s bananas. Any blenders from the Vitamix family are definite keepers. I love this one in particular due to its low profile, meaning it snuggles underneath the cabinets, instead of taller blenders that have to be a table top decoration as they are so big.

3:: Microplane Premium Zester Grater – More cheeeese pleaseeee. Microplanes make THE prettiest cheese rain… you know, when you just go ham and keep shredding delicious cheese ribbons on top of your meal or into your best friend’s hand. It’s also lightning fast for those zest needing occasions. It’s a mighty, fierce and sharp little grater. Oh and it’s good to make chocolate shavings/dust too.

4:: Cuisinart Stainless Steel Mixing Bowls with Lids – My go-to bowls. Whether it’s tossing together a salad, mixing a small marinade, or the occasional bake job these are the bowls I pull out, every single time. They have handy lids that push into the top of the bowls making them super leak resistant, and they also neatly nestle inside each other when storing. I’ve had mine for going on six years with no signs of rust or issue.

5: Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat: Mastering the Elements of Good Cooking – Want to get your learn on? This book is not only packed full of helpful, understandable information but it’s actually fun to read and look through. Samin Nosrat uses humor and visuals to help you create and be inspired in the kitchen. BONUS: She also has her own show on Netflix, Salt Fat Acid Heat which is definitely deserving of a watch too.

6:: Le Creuset Enameled Cast-Iron 5-1/2-Quart Round Dutch Oven – This is the pot for every stove-top meal I’m making. Soup, pasta, mashed potatoes (yes mashed potatoes gets it’s own mention), risotto, or whatever needs to be cooked in anything but a flat single layer (such as pancakes, they still get their time in an actual pan). The awesome thing about Le Creuset is their pieces are often handed down in families because they are tough little buggers and are built to last. They have a variety of sizes, and the link above will actually have a graph of which size is best for the number of people you feed.

7:: Ottolenghi Simple: A Cookbook – I love me some Ottolenghi. The really cool thing about his cookbooks is that all of the recipes can play together, meaning a meal is going to easily go with a side dish or a salad that he also shares in the cookbook. It’s really rare to open a cookbook and see that everything goes together and that building out a meal takes little thought. Expect fresh ingredients and flavors from this delicious grouping of recipes.

8:: OXO Good Grips Salad Spinner – We use this salad spinner every single day. Not because I am a salad queen and getting in all of my greens. But Chewy our bunny gets a salad every night and naturally, his greens get washed just like ours before eating, so they take a spin to dry off in this awesome salad spinner. Some things that make this the spinner or your dreams is it’s one-touch use, as it has a little grippy action on the bottom of the bowl, and the push knob (to make it spin) can actually be pushed down and locked in place giving you a flat top for easier storing.

9:: OXO Good Grips Double-Sided Citrus Juicer – I hate having to hand squeeze citrus, whether it’s lemon into a dressing or lime into a Mexican inspired soup. It’s a paaaaain. I can never get all the juice out, it goes everywhere and if there are seeds they are hoping into whatever I’m making that doesn’t want them there anyway. This gadget has two sides depending on the size of the citrus you are juicing, think limes vs oranges. It also strains as the juice falls into the handy cup allowing you to measure and easily pour just the right amount into your recipe. It’s also way easier on the hands. Amen.

10:: OXO Good Grips Stainless Steel Steamer w/ Extendable Handle – I never knew what I was missing out on until I got a steamer basket. One, it makes roasting veggies waaaaay faster, and two it gives you control over how crunchy or soft you want your veg. Broccoli is our most often steamed, and then there is brussels sprouts which we toss in butttttah. Mmmmm. The reason why I seriously recommend this steamer is that it gives you a handle to pull it out of the pot when you are done. Try lifting steaming veggies out of a steaming pot with nothing to really grab on to. Yeah, that won’t ever be your problem with this steamer.

11:: Cuisinart 9-Speed Handheld Mixer with Storage Case – Some of us don’t have the largest kitchens where a stand mixer is just not an option *raises hand* that’s when a hand mixer comes in and saves the day. This bad boy comes with extra attachments like dough hooks and a whisk. PLUS, it also stores all cuddly with its attachments AND cord inside its little storage case, it’s super handy.

12:: Takeya Vacuum-Insulated Stainless-Steel Water Bottle – Everyone needs a water bottle, including those of us who are working our buns off in the kitchen. I previously was using a plastic reusable water bottle that was supposed to keep cold drinks cold, yeah it was a liar. This stainless steel bad boy, on the other hand, legit keeps things cold… for hours. The lid is neat in that instead of having a wide mouth/the entire top coming off the bottle it’s just a small spout, which I prefer. So not only are they not liars about keeping cold drinks cold, they have a ton of colors and different sizes to pick from, all while kicking the plastic out of your life and making a smarter and better choice from you and the environment. Awesomeness.

13:: OXO 12-Inch Tongs with Black Silicone Heads – Hey, don’t be using those metal utensils on all your nice cookware, use silicone or wood instead buddy. Especially when we are talking tongs as tongs are often scraped against the bottom of pots/pans when cooking. These nifty tongs have silicone on their grabbers so you won’t be scratching but can still easily toss or flip your ingredients. I never realized the amazingness of tongs until I got a pair and found myself using them as much as a spatula, it’s so handy to be able to pick up and flip exactly what you want, it definitely provides more control when cooking and I looove it.

14:: Cuisinart Set of 3 Fine Mesh Stainless Steel Strainers – These guys are so handy. Rinsing beans before using, draining a small pot of lentils, or most of all rinsing quinoa. A lot of strainers will actually not be able to hold the quinoa as it slips through the holes, not these strainers though. You get three sizes in this pack letting you choose the size for your needs.

Well there you have it, the big and the small, the affordable and the investments. These are all tried and true products that we love in our home.

Speaking of love, I hope you have a wonderful holiday season and sending you lots of love and peace for the new year.

- xoxo Meg
